Tedious? Yes. But only for a few weeks. Once you get a handle on what your typical caloric intake is and should be, you can generally estimate what you should eat in a day.<br />One website i really liked was The Daily Plate (http://www.thedailyplate.com/). It does most of the work for you.<br />I periodically have to go back to it and check up on myself, especially when i hit a plateau.
