Admitting the problem is half of the battle...well, at least a quarter of the battle! ;) It is hard - when you're feeling tired, lazy, entitled to a treat...to just grab something not-so-healthy. I don't know if it would help you at all...but doing a Candida cleanse was integral to my having more energy. It was miserable for about 5 days, but I feel better than I have in years after doing it. And it helps with cravings (once you are done, that is - they intensify at first). As far as "emotional" eating...I still struggle with wanting to do that...I've just cut myself off completely from my comfort foods for at least a few months...hoping that will help me to identify my triggers and find new ways of coping. I hope that helps! Please feel free to call or email if you want to chat about it! You aren't alone in this struggle. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08994162746992216668noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2020336825479699957.post-74381318048817932202013-05-14T12:23:00.492-05:002013-05-14T12:23:00.492-05:00Food is so challenging! I'd love to hear what you thought about it in detail- it certainly helped me look at my relationship with food differently. Acknowledging that patterns in my life have an emotional cause made a great deal of sense to me. "Awareness" practices like the one you did (sitting there and feeling what the emotion felt like in your body) are so empowering. This is your cousin, Brittany. I got food...Hey Amy. This is your cousin, Brittany. I got food poisoning this summer and it upset my stomach for nearly a month. It's so discouraging but it will very likely pass. Yogurt isn't the most effective system of probiotic delivery - there aren't really enough cultures to survive beyond the acid in your stomach. I would go to Whole Foods or another legit. health food store and talk to them about probiotic supplements. I had to try several kinds as some of them were very bloating and caused me even more pain but I eventually settled on the Mega Food brand but each person is different. I have a lot of other stomach problems (gluten sensitivity, acid reflux, diagnosed with IBS with bloating) and it doesn't sound like that :) If you're normally pretty strong of stomach, you're probably just experiencing something temporary so don't worry yourself too much as stress inhibits the body from healing. I know that feeling though, just when you're doing well you get hit with something else. It is very frustrating and depressing but this, too, shall pass! I know when I've done diets where I eat really clean or eliminate a whole category, once I eat it again or in large ammounts my system doesn't like it at all. Also is your stress level higher than normal at all? I know when I get extra stressed my digestive system is the first to force me to slow down. I agree that a doctor visit to rule anything serious out is a must. If anything this is more motivation to eat better, just keep re-reading the paragraph about how great you felt, then the paragraph where you ate poorly, you feel poorly. *love you*-Amy DeMersAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2020336825479699957.post-68353179172333797702012-11-12T08:49:37.407-06:002012-11-12T08:49:37.407-06:00Oh, honey!
